At Beacon Nursery we provide children with a hands on approach to learning. We listen and value the children’s needs and interests so that we create an environment that is rich and purposeful, allowing them to think, express and discover. Our fantastic environments, both inside and out, allow children to have wonderful learning adventures every day….

Mrs Claire Tabb is our Nursery Teacher and is supported by Miss Lisa Taylor, HLTA and Miss Josie Collins, EYFS TA.

We take 3 and 4 year old children. We can also take rising 3, i.e children can join the nursery the term in which they turn 3 after their third birthday.

Children in F1 follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

Full details of the Early years (under 5s) foundation stage framework (EYFS) are available here:

To help your children at home...

Reading stories to your child every day is a vital way to support their language development, their understanding of new words and concepts and it will support their reading and writing as they progress through the school.

Reading books together at home also promotes a love of reading and helps to support good attitudes to learning as children get older.

The children are all practising their name writing at school each day. If you also practise this at home, please support your child to start each letter in the correct place and write with only one capital letter at the beginning of their name. If you would like any materials to support with this, please speak to your class teacher.
