Learning
At Beacon Nursery we provide children with a hands on approach to learning. We listen to and value the children’s interests so that we create an environment that is rich and purposeful, allowing them to think, express themselves and discover. Our stimulating environments, both inside and out, allow children to have wonderful learning adventures every day.
Beacon Nursery is a place where we learn to:
- become independent
- explore and experiment
- take risks and challenge ourselves…
- work together
A typical session begins with a small group time with the child’s key person. During this time there will be a focus around Letters and Sounds or Mathematics. The children will then initiate their own play and learning immersing themselves in our extensive environments. Outside we have a newly built Mud kitchen and Sand pit. We have an Art studio and an Investigation Station where the children will often study ‘Minibeasts.’ We have a fire pit for cooking and sharing stories around the fire. Every session ends with ‘Story and Rhyme time.’
